Aistear

Aistear (the Irish word for journey) is the national curriculum framework for children. Education is a lifelong journey that can take many different routes.

Here in Cregmore School, we pioneered the first Aistear Room of its kind in the country. This would not have been possible without the ongoing support and funding of our school community.

Our pupils are immersed in the four themes of Aistear which are;

  1. Well-being,
  2. Identity and Belonging,
  3. Communicating,
  4. Exploring and Thinking

These themes are explored differently in each month of the year. The highlight of every child’s day is a trip to the Aistear Room.
