Yoga
The children here in Scoil Pádraig Naofa are very fortunate to be able to avail of weekly yoga classes. A visiting teacher, Ms. Fiona Brown, creates a calm, relaxed setting in our school hall where our pupils enjoy all the benefits of yoga. Yoga encourages healthy habits, teaches calming techniques and self acceptance. Children learn self awareness through yoga and the ability to focus also.
All of the above benefits link together. When children learn to accept and love themselves for who they are, to focus and calm their minds, and to be aware of their innate capabilities, they learn tools for resilience. Yoga supports positive mental health in children.
The fact that mobile phones are never allowed to be taken into school by pupils also promotes the holistic well-being of the children in our school..
