Dear Parents,
I hope this very brief note finds you all well.
As previously stated, we are really pleased at how well we are adjusting to the new regulations and procedures here in our school, and I wish to reassure you that each classroom, bathroom, common area and hallway are deeply sanitised at least 3 times a week using the industrial sanitising machines we purchased during the Summer. They are really efficient and effective and give us all that reassurance we need. In addition, each teacher and our caretaker Arthur sanitises desktops, chairs, toilets etc daily.
As you are aware there have been clusters of the Covid 19 infection identified in the Oranmore and Renmore areas. This is very worrying, particularly when it was revealed that it presented in young children and that the symptoms were atypical symptoms, that is, they were NOT the usual symptoms of high temperature, sneezing, coughing etc, but instead the children were presenting with sore throats and / or runny nose.
Therefore, please can I ask you not to send your child to school if he / she presents with any of the above symptoms. (temperature, cough, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat).
Finally, if for any reason your child is absent from school, be it Covid 19 related or not, or if your child has attended a medical practitioner, you must fill out the attached form, called RETURN TO SCHOOL PARENT DECLARATION FORM before your child will be permitted to rejoin his / her class. You may print off a copy of this form or you may get a copy from Alison in the school office.
Finally, this too shall pass....and if we continue to adhere to best practice and advice, then it should not impact on us.
Best of luck to the Turloughmore Senior Hurling Team who just might do something special this year and give us all something to feel good about. Wouldn't it be great
Have a lovely weekend
Kind Regards
Joe Kennelly.
