Readathon supports Galway Sick Kids Foundation.

Recently the pupils of Cregmore National School took part in a School Readathon to help raise funds for the Galway Sick Kids Foundation. This voluntary organisation raises much needed funds to enhance the Paediatric Unit of UCHG. In recent times it has funded a specially designed bath, a sensory unit and at the moment it hopes to provide an outdoor swing specially designed for wheelchair users. Colm Kennelly, who represented the foundation, visited Cregmore NS recently and collected a cheque for €1200, proceeds from a recent Readathon hosted by the school. He commended the staff and pupils for embarking on such a project and stated that this money would be put to wonderful use. He said that it was hoped to have this specially designed swing fully operational next Spring 2022 so that all wheelchair users would have an opportunity to enjoy an outdoor activity. Pictured below is Colm with his son Cathal and Ms Coyne along with her Senior Infant class who presented the cheque to the foundation on behalf of the school.
