Junior & Senior Infants secured a place at this year’s Teddy Bear Hospital, which took place on the grounds of the University of Galway in the City Centre today.
The children attended the hospital with teddy bears suffering from an imaginative range of sore ears, sick tummies and all kinds of other weird and wonderful ailments. X-rays were taken, ‘pawscriptions’ administered and lots of fun was had throughout the excursion
The event is organised by the Slainte Society, University of Galway’s health promotion society that focuses on promoting all aspects of physical and mental health. A range of medical, healthcare and science students helped to diagnose and treat the teddy bears throughout the day. In the process, the students helped the children to feel more comfortable throughout medical, doctor and hospital settings.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to all at the University for organising and facilitating such an important event. No doubt many of our boys & girls will be students of the University in the future.
